My name is Marylou Sivigliano, and in the summer of 2001, I began my ministry as Sacristan for Nativity of Our Lord parish. Although it started as a part-time weekend job, through these 18 years of service, I have been transformed by the love the Lord and the people of this parish in doing what I do. Today it is my full-time position, but even more so, it is a part of who I am.
Originally from New Jersey, I moved to Colorado more than 40 years ago. I raised six children as a single mother, four boys and two girls. All of my kids attended Nativity School and several also graduated from Holy Family High School and Colorado colleges. Today they live in Washington, Oklahoma, and Colorado. From these six, God’s goodness has given me five grandchildren, to whom I travel as often as I can.
The greatest blessing of my job has been the opportunity to learn about and participate in the many sacred liturgies that are part of the day-to-day life of a vibrant parish like Nativity. Outside of my parish work I enjoy gardening, sewing—mostly quilts and blankets—hiking and spending time with my faith community.
